A time for change and a time for action
The Conservatives have run the Borough and County Councils for the past 9 years. All the problems we as residents experience with local services are due directly to the policies they have implemented during that time.
The Conservatives have been wasteful in spending (more than £1 million overspent on Bin Collections in the past 2 years), slow in action and unwilling to take responsibility for their mistakes, but more than willing to blame each other or the Government for their own failings.
Our local council is still failing our residents. Even after eight straight years of above inflation increases in Council tax they still can’t get the basic things right, like bin collections and parking. Whilst our council promises much they fail to deliver the services already paid for by residents.
At a time when Council reserves are at their highest ever, over £17 million of your money in the bank, our towns are crying out for more youth clubs and activities, more services for the elderly and ensuring that our neighbourhoods are safe.
Projects like the Borehamwood's community theatre or New Village Hall are late or on indefinite hold. Roads and pavements across the whole borough are falling into disrepeair despite £10s of millions of direct grants from the Government.
