Survey identifies road maintenance problems. [December 15th 2004]

Clear majorities judged both pavements and roads to be in a "poor" or "very poor" condition. Shenley Road easily topped the poll for the pavement in the worst condition. This was as much due to the litter, fag ends and chewing gum as to the state of the block paving. Labour councillors will continue to press (Conservative controlled) Hertsmere Council to get its street cleaning act together. See here for further details.
