Community Shop Redundancies [July 19th 2007]

Many thanks for printing our letter in the Borehamwood & Elstree Times about the redundancies of the staff in the Community Shop in Leeming Road.

We had a tremendous response to our petition at Families Day, and residents were extremely concerned to make every attempt to keep the facility open as a first port of call for help, or as an information centre.

To give more people the chance to sign the petition, we will be outside the shop tomorrow, between 2pm and 3pm, and we hope as many residents as possible will come and sign it.

Ann Harrison, Di Hoeksma, Ernie Butler, Ian Feeney, Richard Butler, Graham Franklin and Peter Hedges, Labour borough and town councilllors
