information
The local Labour Party is made up and run by people just like you. We are people who care about our Towns and care about how our elected Councils use Tax Payers money to provide the best possible services.
The local Labour Party recieves no money from the National Party or indeed from the tax-payer. Every leaflet you get through the door is paid for by local fund raising.
Borehamwood and Shenley Branch of the Labour Party meets on the 3rd Tuesday of every second month (except in April, August and December and if directly preceding an election. Complicated I know; just look at the events page for details) at the Manor House, Allum Lane Community Centre,
All local members are welcome.
Hertsmere Constituency Labour Party General Meetings are held every 4th Tuesday of the month, usually at the same venue (again except in April, August and Decemeber and if directly preceding an election, look at the events page for details). All constituency party members are welcome.
Details of borough council meetings open to the public can be found on Hertsmere Council's website or from Ann Harrison, Labour Group Secretary.
Details of Elstree and Borehamwood town council meetings also open to public can be obtained from the Town Clerk on 0208 207 1382
We're all volunteers and we always welcome new members with an ability to take on aspects of administrative work such as keyboarding, delivery of branch notices and newsletters, telephoning.
Please contact the group secretary if you are able to help in any way.
There are lots of small but essential tasks that need to be done during an election period such as - delivery of leaflets, stuffing envelopes with leaflets or letters, street stalls, talking to voters in person or on the telephone, computing, helping on the day of the election. Please contact the Branch organiser whose name and contact number will always be published in your monthly Branch Newsletter.
The Labour Party has representatives on a variety of local groups such as Age Concern, Acton Extravaganza and school governors. Members also help at local advice surgeries. Contact a councilor directly or your Branch Chair.
