Postal voting
If you are already on the electoral register
Anyone can now apply for a postal vote. A postal vote means that you need never miss out on your right to vote.
You can apply for postal votes at all future elections. Or you can ask for a postal vote for a specific period of time, such as while you are on holiday. You can have your ballot paper sent to any convenient UK address.

and then post it to the Hertsmere Borough Offices, or ask a friend to take it to the Office

If you are not on the electoral register
You can now apply any time up to about a fortnight before polling day to get on the electoral register if you've recently moved into the area or been missed off the official list. British, EU and Commonwealth citizens over 18 are eligible to vote in all local elections.
