Sam Russell
Hertsmere Constituency Labour Party Parliamentary Candidate
Local Labour Party member Sam Russell has been selected to stand on behalf of the Labour Party in Hertsmere at the next General Election. He will be taking on the incumbent Tory MP, James Clappison, when the Prime Minister chooses to call the next election.
Sam and his family come from Bushey where he was educated at Bushey Hall School. At the University of Kent he played a leading role in creating one of the most dynamic and active student organizations in the country. Sam works as a Local Government Manager.
Sam has been an active campaigner in the local area since the age of 15, both campaigning and standing in the Local Elections each year.
Commenting on his selection, Sam said:
"I'm delighted to be selected by Hertsmere Labour Party as their candidate at the next General Election. I am absolutely determined to stand up for the interests of everyone in Hertsmere, and to expose the sorry record of James Clappison, the Tory MP over the past 15 years.
I think that it is time for change in Hertsmere. The Tories have shown that they are out of touch with Hertsmere residents through such disasters as the ABC recycling scheme, the Lib Dems are increasingly irrelevant. Meanwhile, James Clappison remains silent, as always. Only Labour, in Parliament and on the Council, can make a real difference in Hertsmereā.
